Pepeya (Pepéya or paw paw) was a leader of Potawatomi near
present day Paw Paw, MI during the time of Potawatomi
removal. Pepeya, along with Pokagon, did not initially sign the
1833 Treaty of Chicago but signed on the second day. Pepeya
along with some of his village eventually moved to
Walpole Island.
